PETA S.A. Participates in the OSEPA Project

The OSEPA Project comes under INTERREG IVC Programme which aims, by means of interregional cooperation, to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies and contribute to economic modernisation and increased competitiveness of Europe.  The INTERREG IVC Programme is part of the European Territorial Cooperation Objective of the Structural Fund policies for the period 2007-2013 and it is financed through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The OSEPA project aims to conduct a systematic debate among European public administrations supported by analysis and exchange of experience on the issue of free and/or open source software (FOSS).  Consequently, it is critical to explore on the main benefits and disadvantages, as well as the cost effectiveness resulting from FOSS adoption and use by public authorities.

The project is being implemented by a consortium of thirteen partners across European local and regional Public Administrations which mainly are national associations of municipalities and communities, regions, municipalities and knowledge organisations.  The Lead Partner of the consortium is KEDKE and its core responsibility is the management and coordination of project.
